Named after Titanites, the giant ammonites once found in the warm, shallow Jurassic seas that covered this part of Dorset. Their fossils are preserved in the Portland Stone of the Isle of Purbeck, with remains found along our local coastline from Dancing Ledge to Winspit and beyond.
